EnoSense® Desk VIB - Cost-Effective Workplace Occupancy Detection for Your Desk-Sharing Project
The new EnoSense® Desk VIB is our most cost-effective sensor for detecting whether a workstation is occupied. It is equipped solely with a vibration sensor, which detects vibrations in the tabletop during normal office activities. We have fully optimized the sensor in terms of cost and required functionality, making it an efficient foundation for your smart office and a desk-sharing solution. As things on the table would often cover a solar cell, in this case we opted for pure battery operation. When the EnoSense® Desk VIB detects a person, it sends a signal every 4 minutes. Like all new EnoSense® sensors, it comes in a stylish design housing and, at 81 x 41 x 9 mm, fits unobtrusively on or under any desk.
The EnoSense® Desk VIB uses a highly sensitive vibration sensor to provide reliable detection of workplace usage in your Smart Office.

Cost-effective detection during normal use of the desk surface
For workstations used for typical office tasks, the EnoSense® Desk VIB offers the best cost-benefit ratio. Its design has been specifically optimized for this application.
The photos show an EnoSense® Desk VIB. This can be mounted either on or under a tabletop as shown here. The sensor is attached using the double-sided adhesive pad already attached to the sensor.
Sensor Analysis
When motion is detected via the vibration sensor, the EnoSense® Desk VIB sends a “Motion detected” message = 1 immediately and every 4 minutes thereafter. When at rest, it sends a “No motion detected” message once. This is followed every 60 minutes by a “No movement detected” message. Here in the picture, the 4 minutes are reduced to 30 seconds.
The EnoSense® Desk VIB features a built-in CR2032 battery to ensure trouble-free operation day and night, in any room, at any time. This ensures the sensor continues to work even when things get a little hectic on the desk for an extended period.
The EnoSense® Desk VIB is attached to the table or under the table using the double-sided adhesive tape that is already attached. The vibration sensor works just as reliably in both cases.
