EnOcean Gateway VL-700 BASE

The VL-700 BASE serves as an IoT edge controller and EnOcean gateway which, with the pre-installed software, is able to receive and interpret data from up to 500 EnOcean sensors via 32 EnoDisc® and send it to a cloud, for example.

Succeeded by the VL-700 BASE 2: same design, same connections, significantly more performance. The VL-700 BASE can be ordered until 23 November 2026.

Description

Optionally, the data can also be analyzed entirely locally and/or transferred to the building automation system.

The usual interfaces such as BACnet, OPC UA, KNX, MODBUS TCP and many more are available in a project.

This example shows an EnOcean gateway solution with 6 of up to 32 possible EnoDisc®-type EnOcean wireless receivers. These are connected to a central Ethernet switch via Ethernet (the EnoDisc® receivers are powered via PoE+). The VL-700 BASE is typically installed in an IT rack and is powered by an industrial-grade 24V DC power supply. This structure allows data from up to 500 EnOcean sensors to be received and processed wirelessly.

New · ECS update

Until now, EnOcean telegrams travelled through the room in plaintext: temperature, occupancy, window state – anyone with a receiver could read along. With the new ECS, the VL-700 BASE decrypts encrypted telegrams itself, for up to 500 sensors, and passes the values straight to your building automation.

Set up once. Store the sensor’s key once in the ECS – from then on, every telegram is encrypted.
Three locks. Encrypted (AES-128), counted (rolling code), signed (CMAC) – as defined in the EnOcean Security Specification.
Decrypted where it arrives. In the control cabinet, on the VL-700 BASE – no cloud and no licence fees. From there via BACnet, Modbus TCP, MQTT, OPC UA or KNX.

Available now for new devices. Encrypted and unencrypted sensors can be mixed.
